Mud desander is the second phase solids control system for processing drilling fluid. According to the cyclone diameter, it is divided into desander and desilter. Generally, cyclones above 6" are called descenders. We commonly used 8", 10", 12" cyclones to separate solid particles with a particle size 47-76μm in the drilling fluid. According to customer's requirement for the size of the processing capacity, HYANG usually selects several cyclones groups combined to form a desander. It is one indispensable device for stabilizing and adjusting the drilling fluid technical parameters, and is suitable for those drillers as ZJ70, ZJ50 and ZJ40. It can be used together with the sealed circulatory system of the drilling fluid.
 
Working principle
 
Cyclone uses the principle of centrifugal separation for solids liquids separation. Since the liquid inlet is installed at the eccentric position of the cylinder, when the drilling fluid enters the volute through the liquid inlet of the cyclone, it firstly follows the volute cylinder. The tangent direction of the tangent line forms an oblique downward circular fluid, which produces a strong spiral. Due to the different densities of sand and water, under the combined action of centrifugal force, centripetal force, buoyancy, and fluid drag force, the low-density water rises and flows out from the outlet, high-density particles are ejected from the nozzle at the bottom, so as to achieve the purpose of desilting.
